Challenge 43: Romantic Comedy challenge by Lori
Nice light, funny, romantic getting together story with it's share of misunderstandings. A la your typical romantic comedy.
*Requirements:*
The misunderstanding to be of the "I thought you were seeing [other character name here]" kind. Preferably each thinking the other was taken, but if it were to be one-sided then John thinking Rodney was seeing someone.
The other character in the mistaken couple to be an odd/unusal match.

Challenge 37: Ice Skating challenge by Gaia
McKay teaching John how to ice skate.
*Premise:*
I'm thinking a 'Let's play hockey' 'I . . . er . . . don't know how to skate.' '*You* don't know how to skate?' *Haha, I McKay the brilliant will teach you!* *I McKay the brilliant make good cushioning forsomeone who is completely incompetent, aparantly.* And then they do sex . . . or just smarmy romance with the snow falling over a frozen lake or something . . . yummy.

Challenge 35: Stargate Atlantis Threesome Ficathon by Canthlian
Rules:
For each threesome grouping, we have a single Driver, and multiple Sponsors. If you're interested in seeing your One True Threesome written, you email me PRIVATELY with your email address, a sample of your fic, and a note of which threesome grouping you want. A group of people read through the submissions, and find the person we feel is the best, most prolific, or fastest writer for that grouping (depending on our mood at the time). That person becomes the Driver for that threesome grouping. Everyone else who applies become Sponsors. When the ficathon starts, the Sponsors have one month to write as many threesome fics for their chosen grouping as they like. At the end of the month, the fics are counted, and the Driver writes - likely over a several month period
-- an equal number of fics to the Sponsor submissions. Not only does this gain what will hopefully be a lot fics for your threesome, but it also makes it known that there are people out there who read, write, and enjoy threesomes.
You can be a Sponsor for as many threesomes as you like, however, you can only be a Driver for one grouping. You'll be busy enough as it is once your part in the ficathon comes around. Also, please note that, unless specifically requested otherwise, all submissions will be completely anonymous, as it is true that some people have issues about being known to write threesomes.

Submissions for being a Driver/Sponsor start today, the 19th of October, and end on the 10th of November. The actual Ficathon will start on the 20th of November. Sponsors will have until the 20th of December to write threesome fics. Drivers will have from the 21st of December until April to write an equal number of threesome fics. As each stage of the Ficathon ends, the fics collected will be posted to a website for archival.

Challenge 34: MPreg challenge #2 by Bec
John and McKay are expecting a baby. (Yeah, it's mpreg... something I'm not overly fond of, but this just seemed to want to be written.)
*Requirements:*:
See Mpreg challenge #1, except:
1.) Instead of both John and Rodney freaking out. Only John freaks out while Rodney is perfectly calm (most of the time.)
2.) Don't have Beckett go off on John, but have him question both men about their feelings for each other which both men are clueless of.
*Optional:* A baby shower *grins evilly* (really want, but is optional)

Challenge 33: MPreg challenge #1 by Bec
John and McKay are expecting a baby. (Yeah, it's mpreg... something I'm not overly fond of, but this just seemed to want to be written.)
*Requirements:*:
1.) Only McKay can carry the child.
2.) John and McKay don't have sex to conceive the baby (Alien intervention or Ancient intervention is needed.)
3.) Before finding out about McKay's unique condition, the two men are not lovers and are barely friends.
4.) Must fall in love during the pregnancy (with each other and the baby)
5.) Have John and McKay both freaking out at times about the baby. (Like when it kicks or Rodney feels ill.... or just whenever either of them think they need to freak out.)
6.) Have other SGA characters understand and not understand what's going on.
7.) Have Dr. Beckett go off on Sheppard when he finds out that he's the other father before knowing how the conception happened and have Sheppard looking confused by the Doc's outburst. Then have McKay's reaction to both Beckett's outburst and Sheppard's confusion.
8.) Disbelief, humor, fear, joy, love, tenderness, concern, and romance

Challenge 32: First Time Before Atlantis challenge by DT
Major Sheppard's been doing shuttle runs for a while, at least long enough for name recognition. Maybe he flew McKay in, or they've seen each other from a distance from time to time.

What if they had a quick encounter, thought it would mean nothing more, didn't even exchange names because they were flying so far under the radar of don't ask and certainly don't tell. And now their one night stand has come with them to the Pegasus Galaxy, where they are working together every day, in positions where being gay/bi could cause others to challenge their authority (especially/specifically Sheppard). Would they discuss it? Would they fight temptation to get together again? Would they give in to temptation but keep it hush hush? Just how weird would it be to have a steamy one night stand turn into a best friend/lover?

Challenge 30: First Time/Happy Ever After challenge by Bec
First time Sheppard/McKay fic where tragic/devastating events changes Sheppard's feelings for McKay and he, as well as the rest of Atlantis begin to see a different side to the normally sarcastic, snarky doctor. *Requirements:*: Lots of H/C, angst, romance, fear, happy ending. Begin it with Sheppard and most everyone else only tolerating McKay. Progress to friendship first before love develops. Sex is optional, but only if it's love making and not very graphic. Must have a plot, love, and a happy forever ending.

Challenge 29: Shep to the Rescue challenge by Shelly
I want a fic where Shep has to run and run and RUN. A very long distance, very fast to save his favorite person. Yeppers. Rodney.
*Examples/Suggestions:*
For whatever reason. An actual race against someone because Rodney is being held captive and Shep has to win to free them both. Or he has to get medicine to Rodney and the PJ's don't work. They have no other way. John has to RUN to get it and RUN back in time. That kind of thing. Or RUN like the wind to lead the enemy away from McKay. For whatever reason. I can just picture Shep running full out, and growing tired, but not stopping. Not being able too. And in the end he makes it and no doubt collapses and Rodney would be there to soothe his brow!

Challenge 27: Sheppard vs. McKay Fight challenge by Gaia
Sheppard and McKay get into a fight and have McKay shocked as hell to find that it's an even match (Shep's going to be a lot quicker, but McKay's going to be putting a lot more bulk behind his punches. What's to stop him from just tackling Shep?) This could lead to some interesting wrestling on the floor, which I'm sure McKay would hold his own or win at, which can equal either bumps and bruises trip to the infirmary for cute h/c scene or hot workout mat sex. Or both.

Challenge 26: POV - John Feeling like he is Over his Head challenge by Gaia
Unlike Jack, who is the quintessential action/adventure/military commando with a snarky sense of humor guy, trained to kill and intent upon doing his job, Sheppard is the Peter Parker of Stargate. He wakes up one day and finds out he has all these superpowers that people demands he use, and then he's put in the situation where he has to make huge decisions concerning people when the day before he was worried about what they were serving at the base mess hall.
I'd love to see someone write a fic from John's POV about how far he's in over his head.

Challenge 25: John Teaches Self Defense challenge by Beth
John is ordered to teach all the science geeks some basic self defense. Since they may need to go off world they need to be able to defend themselves and their team. I can see a lot of humor in the reactions between military and science groups. I think John and Rodney could be a good bridge to show that all military people are not idiots and all scientists are not helpless. OK, I also see hot sweaty McShep sex after a workout!!

Challenge 23: Shep/McKay/Kavanagh love triangle challenge by Gaia
I hereby challenge someone to write a Shep/McKay/Kavanagh love triangle.
*Examples/Suggestions:*
Kavanagh and McKay have one of those bitch-fights turned sex moments and Shep walks in on it, becomes insanely jealous, sets out to kill Kavanagh.
-or-
Shepwhore gets pissed at Rodney, decides to cheat with man Rodney hates most.
-or-
Shep and McKay get it on, in a fit of evilness and lovesick jealousy Kavanagh exposes it to the base. Shep faces ridiculous levels of homophobia/angst.
-or-
Same as above, only Kavanagh blackmails either Shep or McKay into sleeping with him in order to stop their thing.
-or-
McKay and Kavanagh have an actual relationship, but McKay leaves Kavanagh for John. Calvin angst! (Rose and I have decided his first name is Calvin, because we're evil).

Just a Kavanagh watches from afar, is angsty.

Kavanagh sees McShep together and can't get it out if his head. He dreams about a threesome that night. And we see Kavanagh's darker sexual side .... Mwahahahahahhaahahaaa!

Challenge 22: Dead Plants challenge by Rauhnee
In Hide and Seek Weir asks someone to get rid of all the 10,000 year old dead plants. What if they weren't ALL dead? What if one was still alive and had a side-effect or nasty ability? What if they weren't all that old, but local flora/fauna that blew in?
Write a fic in which someone finds one of the plants alive.
*Requirements:*
Pick the side-effect of your choice be it humor, romance, horror, smut. Humor is of course my favorite, but it's all good.

Challenge 21: Confused John challenge by Huntress
John wants to spend some 'quality' time with Teyla, (who doesn't have *that* kind of interest in him). She also notices that every other sentence is punctuated with a 'Rodney this' or 'Rodney that'. Every time John is ready to make a move on her, Rodney shows up and John can't figure out why. Teyla *does* figure it out, confronts Rodney.
Teyla and Rodney plan to make John notice him.

Challenge 20: Visit from SGC challenge by Lori
Basically what happens is a team from Earth arrives trying to convince McKay to return as they need his assistance (they have hopes of his staying once getting back there). He isn't ordered to do so, rather he can return by his choice.
I am looking for the reactions (both professional and personal) to his possibly choosing to return since he feels that no one at Atlantis would really care one way or another.
*Requirements:*
Atlantis has managed to re-establish contact with Earth. There is a situation back on Earth that no one can seem to be able to solve. McKay is feeling unappreciated and unwanted at Atlantis. Since I am a complete sucker for first time stories, I would envision this with no pre-existing relationships, including, at least in Rodney's mind, no real close friendships.
*Optional:*
As a nod to my SG1 obsession, any crisis would ideally involve Jack and Daniel being stuck somewhere together (and not necessarily wanting to be rescued, at least not completely).

Challenge 19: ATA Gene challenge by Kyn_Moonlight
Ever wonder WHERE Carson got the ATA Gene he gave Rodney and what kind of side effects it could have? It probably had to come from someONE (either himself as most accessible or John as the strongest I'd assume). What if it created some kind of *connection* between the donor and recipient? ::evil giggles:: (either physiological/genetic or just either one's imagination)
*Examples/Suggestions:*
-Rodney starts to feel an 'inexplicable' attraction to John.
-They start to sense each others' emotions or physical sensations, or hear snippets of each others' thoughts
-They feel some kind of special/odd connection with or need for the other.
-Now Rodney needs a regular John Sheppard 'fix' to keep the gene active.
-It wasn't Beckett's treatment that made Rodney get ATA, it was getting John's 'genetic material' into him some other way that triggered his ATA skills.
-It makes Rodney sick and only something John can do for/to him can cure him.
-Or going for the angst angle, Rodney gets the effect from Carson's gene and it affects his relationship with John, so they have to deal with it or re-format Rodney with John's DNA.

Challenge 14: Rodney's Hurt Feelings challenge by Bec
I was hoping that maybe someone could write a fic that has Sheppard (and the others) seriously hurting McKay's feelings (with out them knowing it at first) and having him question why he's really there in the first place if the others don't really want him there.

Have Sheppard try to figure out what's up with McKay and shocked to find out that he's part of the reason. I'd like to see McKay avoid (or at least try to) Sheppard and the others and have Sheppard trying to find away to reverse the pain he and the others have caused. Definitely have John discover Rodney's feelings for him and trying to figure out what to do about it.

Challenge 10: Personal Dieries Challenge by Kouros3
Atlantis personnel has to keep a daily record of their experiences.
*Premise:*
Weir and Beckett have begun working on a long term program for the health of the crew since getting back to Earth is looking less likely all the time. As part of the mental health aspect of the program they have urged everyone to begin keeping a journal or diary type record of their daily experiences. They hope that in the months to come it will help the crew with keep their perspective and could also help provide data to future workers/rescue crews if anything catastrophic should happen.

Challenge 9: Serious Allergic Reaction Challenge by Gaia
Write a fic with an with an excerpt from Elfkin's enlightening Medical Treatise (even some of the personal narrative ;-)! Maybe even as an argument between Rodney and Shep/Beckett.
Elfkin's enlightening Medical Treatise (Message #276): In case anyone wants to know what a dangerous allergic reaction looks like, it goes like this. For ANY serious allergy.....citrus, flying piggies or otherwise.

Allergy symptoms often begin with a dry cough and a general sense of not feeling "well" in a nondescript fashion, including some mild dizziness. (Many severe reactions happen within half an hour but some take days to cultivate to optimal severity and when that happens, the person suffering the allergic reaction will sleep a lot. It's exhausting.) For the more immediate reactions, very soon the eye and face area begins to itch and swell. You really can just watch it bloom over features, red swelling that looks a lot like a scald all around the eyes and face. Sometimes the interior throat itches as well. As symptoms progress, the allergy sufferer begins to wheeze and/or sneeze, and develop hives over large areas or localized areas (much itching). These symptoms may be warning signs of a dangerous condition called anaphylaxis, though not all severe reactions end in anaphylaxis. Symptoms include sudden anxiety and weakness, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, very low blood pressure, loss of consciousness, and onset of general shock. Anaphylactic shock can occur within minutes and result in death. A patient in anaphylactic shock needs immediate medical treatment.

As for the anxiety listed above, it is very real, and part of the chemical reaction happening. It's /not/ a panic attack. It's a reaction to the heightened presence of chemicals in response to the allergen. Now, that is not to say some folks experiencing a severe reaction don't have panic attacks. It's a scary event for some. But for the many that don't tend to panic, there is a very real sense of anxiousness that is part of the chemical process.

Challenge 6: Homeland Security Challenge by Elfkin
Atlantis has that whole ocean around them and the whole mainland.... Either could be full of new life forms and adventures, dangers.
So... the challenge is that the Atlantis team (McKay and Shep especially) do the Doctor Livingston thing in the deep jungle/forest of the continent or "Cousteau" the depths of the ocean (You aren't telling me that all that time under the ocean and Atlantis doesn't have any underwater craft.)
*Examples/Suggestions:*
And they run into either trouble and sex, or just sex. Or trouble with sex... hmmmm. You decide that part.
This can include monsters, bugs (Shep would just love that), plants (Think "feed me Seymour")... even jellyfish? Is the huge, forested continent full of deep dark, deep, deep, dark deep secrets?
Or does the ocean around Atlantis hold some great Leviathan just waiting to cause troubles for the heroes?

Challenge 5: Beckett's Pet by Leah
Dr. Beckett needs to get a pet. Any kind of pet, though obviously something mammalian would be preferable just for the 'cute and fuzzy' factor. Hell, the man's already got a cage full of mice, maybe one of them? What happens to him, the team, and the animal afterwards is, of course up to you...
*Examples/Suggestions:*
Maybe he gets give a critter by some locals from one of the --*gasp!*-- friendly planets they visit in the Pegasus galaxy, as payment or thanks for medical services.

Challenge 3: The McShepSlash Haunted City Ficathon by Gaia
Something having to do with Halloween (it can be very tangential, not even mentioning the holiday).
*Examples/Suggestions:*
Some basic things that don't follow the holiday if you don't care for holiday fic, but are totally in the spirit:
-costumes (masks... blindfolds... skintight leather)
-tricks (hehehehe)
-treats (Caramel, anyone?)
-supernatural phenomenon of any sort (hauntings?)
-creepiness
-anonymity
-ghost stories
-Black cats (cause Rodney loves his cats)
-Macbeth (I know it not related to Halloween anywhere but in my brain, but I just love those witches, don't you?)
-pagan rituals muahahahaha
-Anything shit-scary, cause that's half the fun (It can even involve hockey masks, cause I know Canadians terrify me, at least)
-And pumpkin pie, yum.
